Literacy Night!

Our Bryan Literacy Night was a huge success! The students loved listening to Judge Keno Vasquez read "Oh, The Places You'll Go!" After the read aloud students were able to visit centers with different reading activites tied to the theme of Dr. Seuss. Happy National Library Week!

Career Day!

We would like to thank The Border Patrol, Mission PD, STC, Mission Hospital NICU, Rodeo Dental, Mission Fire Department, Medcare EMS Ambulance Service, and The Army for helping make our Career Day a huge success! Also, a big thanks to our wonderful counselor, Mrs. Cynthia Ibañez, for organizing such an edcational event!

Texas Reads One Book!

Students had a blast listening to Dallas Cowboy's Coach Garrett read the first chapter of the book called Lemonade War. Parents were invited to come and join their children in the library to work on a craft that went with the theme. They enjoyed working while having some cookies and a cup of cold lemonade. Reading tips and suggestions were given by our librarian and parent liaison. Students will read the rest of the book with their parents at home.

Books Comes Alive Competition!

Our third graders came in second place for the Books Comes Alive Competition! Their reward is a visit from some Gladys Porter Zoo animals on May 11th! The students are beyond excited and can't wait for this day.

Help Bryan Elementary celebrate Dr. Seuss Week!
February 27th-Grab a friend and dress as twins, Thing One and Thing Two.
February 28th-Wear a hat and read The Cat in the Hat.
March 1-Wear a shirt from a vacation destination and read Oh, the Places You'll Go!
March 2-Wear something with pockets and bring your own wocket (stuffed animal). Read There's a Wocket in my Pocket!
March 3-Wear your favorite Dr. Seuss costume or shirt!

National School Counseling Week 2017, "School Counseling: Helping Students Realize Their Potential," will be celebrated from Feb. 6-10, 2017, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems. National School Counseling Week, sponsored by ASCA, highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. National School Counseling Week is always celebrated the first full week in February.
